Yay! For this season’s line up of anime series.  Its been a while since I’ve had interest in recently released anime.  This Fall, Hunter x Hunter’s remake is in the anime line up! I don’t remember the exact age I was when I was watching this on national TV, what Im sure about is that I was in the elementary when I started to watch it. It was the biggest anime released in that year, and all my schoolmates were all talking about it. The best I can remember of this anime is the part where there was a big storm ( I cant remember a lot of the episodes), and I can remember that because upper classmen and classmates were talking about it on the bus during one of our biggest field trips. Usually everyone was just in their seats, talking about whatever, sleeping, eating snacks, but during that time everyone were enthusiastically talking about the big storm over at Hunter x Hunter.

During the early days of Janime (watch anime online), when it was just on its alpha stage, one of the first anime that was requested by its users was Hunter x Hunter. I didn’t rewatch this anime, and I didn’t really watch most of the episodes (its hard to watch your favorite shows when you have an elder sister and a mom watching the dramatic shows on the other channel) so I don’t really know the storyline, or at least I forgot what the storyline was, and I was intrigued by how people want to watch this old anime again.  On my 1st year in college, during the second semester, Hunter x Hunter was aired again in the same channel. I did not know until we visited my classmate’s dorm because its time slot was between 8am and 10am, and that was the year I started waking up at around 10:30am to 12pm.  So as we hang out in my classmate’s dorm on a regular basis due to projects and stuff, I found out that most of my friends like this anime, and even though they have watched it many times, they still want to watch it.

Last season, me and my friend smiley found out that there is going to be a remake of the series and it will be aired in October. This made him excited and told me that he was going to watch it again. He convinced me to watch it too, since the animation is going to be better and it will follow the storyline of the manga. Earlier, I watched the first episode of the series and shared it to my friends. My friends were so excited and decided to watch it. I was disappointed with the animation because although the resolution is way much better now, I think the colors and the character design did not meet with my expectations. Seeing that Im not an expert in this series, I asked my friend what he thinks is new with the animation… his answer… “Mito’s hair got shinier”.

Im expecting a lot from this series, and I hope it converts me to be a fan.

top 25 animes you want to see more of

Anime fans quizzed on what type of anime they would like to see more of seem to be tired of the staple bishoujo anime formulas, instead craving more long-running originals boasting high production values – although they would say that, wouldn’t they? if you want to watch anime online for free

The ranking:

1. Original anime (as opposed to adaptations)

2. Anime with more than 2 seasons

3. Emotional anime

4. Anime with gorgeous art

5. Continuations

6. Comedy/gag anime

7. Anime with all star seiyuu casts

8. Quality over quantity!

9. Heart-warming anime

10. Romance anime

11. Robot anime

12. SF anime

13. “Healing” anime

14. Adventure anime

15. Anime with appealing protagonists

16. Future anime

17. History anime

18. Freely distributed anime

19. Anime adapted from novels and light novels

20. Moe anime

21. Anime based on classic literature

22. War anime

23. Sports anime

24. Ghost & monster anime

25. Tsundere anime

“Ero” is also narrowly beaten by tsundere…

With most of the staples of the last decade evidently at saturation point, it seems what fans really think they want is more along the lines of Code Geass and Madoka – although unfortunately producing such hits is probably vastly more difficult and less financially rewarding than simply providing an endless succession of Type B schoolgirl anime, which it seems anime fans lap up irrespective of their vociferous complaints.
